I remember the lion, where I went up
as a boy to contemplate the city.
Hammurabi walked there perhaps
at the beginning of civilization.
Hussain Harba /
architect and fashion designer
Architect Hussain Harba was born in Iraq,
in Babylon, the most famous of all the cities of Mesopotamia.
Breathe the art since he was a child, thanks to his collector father, and at 18 he is characterized by a creative nature that leaves him from his homeland and moves to Perugia where he learns Italian and starts his great passion for Italy which, the following year, took him to Turin where he attended the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic.
After graduating, he immediately began his work as a designer for companies and multinationals, where he designed trade fairs and exhibitions all over the world.
The continuous search for beauty, constant commitment and passion for work are the foundations on which the architect founded TriArt Pubblicità in 1997. A design studio that becomes the creative laboratory for the realization of more than 171 thousand art objects that, from then until now, have been created for the most famous Italian and international brands.
To give a good idea of the importance and the notoriety of the design pieces created by the architect Harba there are the words of a journalist who has defined such objects’ “so rooted in people’s lives as to be more seen and recognizable than the works of Michelangelo”.
The first iconic armchairs and silver-colored sofas in cowhide or pony, which furnish the TriArt Pubblicità space, date back to this period.
The designer, who is above all an artist, designs furniture components with innovative shapes and bright colors in which materials play a fundamental role. Famous are the sofas and above all the armchairs from the espalier with an unbalanced semicircle in the colors gold and silver, as well as those made in pony or in natural cowhide or even with a texture that recalls the autumn leaves and the wooden arms that recall the trunks of the trees . According to the architect Harba, each object is an artifact that arises from the sensitivity of the human being because it is the thought behind the creative act that makes the difference and that distinguishes a serial product from an iconic and original one.
In 2001 the first of a series of successes takes place, for the company and the design office of the architect Harba who receives the national recognition ‘Italy that works‘ born to reward the companies that have distinguished themselves in their field, confirming thus constant research in the field of design, applied to the creation of objects.
The architect Harba’s creations do not stop at large architectural projects or design objects, but his great creativity also finds space in the fashion world. This is how luxury creations like bags and jewelery are born, all unique, handmade, some patented and registered at EUIPO (EUROPEAN UNION INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE) with a limited edition, characterized by bright colors and the most sophisticated and luxurious materials. Among the first fashion creations there are the python or blue crocodile briefcases, created to preserve the projects of the architect Harba and becoming more and more in demand so as to become a real collection appreciated by the Italian and international public.
The folders are followed by the now famous Home Bags presented exclusively on the catwalk of the first edition of the Turin Fashion Week in which, the Architect Harba, is hosted as a special guest and in which he presents to the public the autumn-winter 2017/2018 collection of the Mini- Home, bags made with the collaboration of daughter Alia, who for the first time participates in the creation of these iconic accessories. The idea of this capsule collection is to tell through bags the idea of home, a place where you can feel yourself.
Even the Mini-Home, like the folders, reproduce the idea of luxury bamboo handles and fine leathers that mix creating color variations that give life to small works of art perfect to wear, for every type of woman.
The commitment in the world of design consecrates him in 2017 with a collaboration with the historic company Poltronova of Florence which produced a limited edition of 24 Joe armchairs entitled “Bloom” presented at the MIAAO in Turin.
A true world design icon, created by Italian designers Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi in 1970 and produced by Poltronova. A project that has had the great merit of paving the way for new interpretations that can be made with the historic objects of design. A limited series of 24 pieces, representing for the Architect Harba spring, rebirth and the desire to live expressed, once again, through colors. A spirit that expresses the soul of an artist and the almost vital need to create, which becomes a dialogue with itself, a dialogue from which objects are created that represent moments of life.
The stylized flower branches seem to give a new lightness to the entire armchair. The flower dress succeeds in adding a sensory and emotional charge to an already strong object, without changing even one comma of its original character.
In an interview, Dr. Cristina Morozzi, defined as ‘the lady of Italian design’ defines the Bloom armchair as the beginning of a new history of design that paved the way for a new way of contamination.
